The tape that holds the leg

Indoors, Tape is known for a strip of fabric that ties the feet to the body, like a piece of tailoring. Outside, Nendo turned that ribbon into a metal plate in Light Bronze, the finish shared by Minotti's whole 2019 outdoor collection. The seats also changed on the way out: deeper, wider and more relaxed than the indoor pieces, with the frame covered in cord that looks like wicker. The metal underneath has an outdoor finish, and the cord wrapping sheds water and dries quickly once the sun is back.

The range is broad for a family meant for small spaces. It runs from two and three seat sofas to armchairs with and without arms, a chair with armrests, a daybed, the Paolina chaise longue and an open couch with no back. A high stool with a footrest came later, in two heights, for outdoor bars and kitchen counters. Nendo aimed the set at rooftop terraces and compact gardens as much as at hotel decks, and the proportions stay light even at sofa size.

The coffee tables borrow the tape idea. A metal crown in Light Bronze holds the legs, and the top drops into the crown in Silver Beola stone or Corian EC. The round stone version is heavy enough to stay put in wind, and stone shrugs off sun and rain. Next to other Minotti side tables, these read as part of the seating family, because the same plate detail appears on both. A pair of them between two armchairs gives a small terrace everything it needs.
