Minotti Bézier modular outdoor sofa
Minotti Bézier is an outdoor seating system and table family by Marcio Kogan / Studio MK27, shaped by the Bézier curve that mathematicians and drafting software use to draw smooth arcs. The modular sofa and the armchair have deep one-piece seats and backs wrapped in thick polypropylene cord. The low tables set stone tops on a stainless steel frame.
A backrest wrapped lengthwise in thick cord.
Drawn from a curve
The indoor Bézier sofa came first, and this outdoor version keeps its irregular, flowing outline. Elements can be pushed together into long curving runs or left as single pieces, so the plan of a terrace does not have to follow a grid. The armchair, added in 2025, uses the same language at a smaller scale. Because each element also stands on its own, a layout can start small and grow later.
Each backrest is a painted tubular aluminum frame wrapped lengthwise in a thick polypropylene cord weave, closed at both ends by an aluminum plate in a matching tone. Cord drains and dries fast after rain and does not rot. The seat is a single deep cushion built from layers of high-density polyurethane foam in different thicknesses, and the stitching follows every curve. Recessed stainless steel feet in dark brown lift it off the paving and resist rust.
Bézier is the outdoor sofa Minotti offers for curved plans: around a fire pit, along a rounded pool edge, or out in the middle of a lawn facing the view. The Bézier tables follow the same kind of curve. A central stainless steel frame carries a stone top with rounded edges, and the organic shapes can be overlapped to make one larger surface in front of the seating.
Studio MK27 was after sinuous lines that wrap around the space and the people in it, deep enough for a lazy afternoon yet composed enough for a formal setting. For an architect, the appeal is that the sofa can answer the shape of a site: a curved wall, a round terrace, the arc of a pool. Pieces can also be regrouped later as the garden changes.
