The system is modular. Sofas come in two, three and four seat versions, and the seat elements come in two depths, so a straight run and a deep corner are both possible. There are armchairs with and without arms, benches, and islands in several configurations. Each can stand on fixed curved feet or on a swivel base. The two panel finishes can be mixed within one arrangement, lacquer next to cord, which gives a large group more texture than a single finish would.

Nendo's shapes are soft all around. The seat is generous and rounded, edged with piping that traces its outline, and a tailored seam on top of the corner cushion keeps the upholstery lines crisp where two sides meet. Back cushions lean against the curved panels. The feet are die-cast aluminum with a pewter varnish, and aluminum does not rust, which matters on a coastal terrace. Cord panels let air through and dry fast after rain, and the lacquered ones give a smoother, more graphic outline.

For a family terrace, a four seat Saki with a couple of armchairs facing it covers most evenings.
