A mosaic of square parts

Think of Patio as a set of tiles. Each seat, bench, ottoman and table is a simple geometric block, and the blocks can be pushed together and rearranged as the space or the occasion changes. The base is designed so the back panels can be fixed at set points along its perimeter. Place them on one side for a conversation sofa, on two sides for a corner, or turn two seats toward each other across a table.

The base is extruded aluminum in a matte ecru or dark brown, a metal that will not rust. The backs are steel frames woven with polypropylene cord in a matching shade, laid out in a crisp Scandinavian grid. Some seats carry a small tray of solid mahogany stained dark brown or natural teak, grooved so rain runs off. Every element stands on the same feet, with back joints in die-cast aluminum polished to a bronze finish.

Two seat depths let Patio fit a narrow city terrace or spread across a large garden. The system includes sofas of many lengths, center and end units, armchairs, a loveseat and double daybeds, so one order can furnish a whole deck.
